Steve Roberts is an attorney and security consultant who works in the area of federal security regulation and related issues at chemical and petrochemical facilities. His work in homeland security and counterterrorism began in 1999. Since that time his professional experiences have included the United States Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the Critical Infrastructure Assurance Office, and an assignment to the President’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Board formerly within the Executive Office of the President, the White House. Before starting his own law and consulting firm, he practiced law in the Washington, D.C. office of Alston & Bird LLP.

Steve has written and spoken on the subject of homeland security and critical infrastructure protection, and his audiences have included government departments and agencies – including the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Reserve – as well as academia and industry.

From 2003 to 2011, Steve was a regular guest instructor at the United States Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia. Steve has also been a Professorial Lecturer in Law at the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., and served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law Center, where he taught on homeland security law and policy.

He is a member of the Florida Bar and received his undergraduate degree, Cum Laude, from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and his law degree, Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Florida.
